Chronic:
  • 1956:  the idea to build a  zoo for animals from  GDR was created. That same year errection started on a 3.6 hectare site including the  1 hectar swan pond 
  • 1957:  A 950 meter long path around the lake is build
  • 1958: arise inter alia the first buildings and enclosures like the pheasant aviary, the Swan House and the enclosure for roe.
  • 1959:  Various water birds, the fox, monkeys and owls are finding their way to the zoo.
  • 1961-62: on the north side of the zoo several enclosures are erected for animals such as deer, pony and donkey.
  • 1963-64: Establishment of  a monkey house. In subsequent years, wolves and foxes are kept, built are houses for water and ornamental fowl, a barn for sheep and goats and a pony barn. 
  • 1980-89: Reconstruction of the bird house on the island. Construction of cages for lynx, wildcat, Wolf and for dingoes. Construction of the parakeet house.
  • 1996: Reclamation and transformation of the enclosure for red deer. Commissioning of the Raccoon enclosure
  • 1997: Visitor-friendly redesign of the entrance area with cash house, visitors seating area and a small snack, beverage and souvenirs store.
  • 1998: nauguration of petting enclosure and the goat house with grass covering. Rearing of young storks. Inauguration of a building as a natural history info center and a zoo school for natural biology class. Establishment of the "ducks channel" with new water poultry and hatcheries.
  • 1999: Construction of a playground, as well as construction of new enclosures for wolves and dingoes, and thus the end of the unsightly cages.
  • 2000: Transformation of the lynx enclosure, construction of a mice house, use of the former Dingo cage into a enclosure for porcupines. New to the collection: iguanas, geckos and various amphibians.
  • 2001: Inauguration of the prairie dog enclosure, initial  rheas / guanacos share the same enclosure.
  • 2002: construction of a natural enclosure for cranes and kangaroos.
  • 2004: Opening of the enclosure for Sikas
  • 2007: Commissioning of the chicken house and apiary.
  • 2008/09:  transformation of the old alpaca house and reopening in a new "design".   Beginning construction of the otter enclosure, transformation of the rabbit enclosure and new  larger Nutria enclosure 
  • 2010/11: beginning construction of the budgerigar aviary, new playground at the Chicken house, Construction of the new coati enclosure and aviaries for snowy owls and ferrets
  • 2012: Walk in enclosure for wallaby's
  • 2013: The old cashiers house is made in to a parot house. A new monkey house is build. The budgerigars get a new home
  • 2015: The meerkats and storks get a new home
  • 2016:The porcupines and tortoises get a new home
  • 2017: Capybaras get a new home
  • 2019: Cotton-top tamarins get a new home

Around the idyllic and always busy swan pond you find between 400 and 500 completely different animals. Whether you are in to pets such as donkeys, pigs, ponies or sheep or in to birds, from small finches, the parakeet, peafowl, storks, cranes, chicken on to the eagle owl Uli. Whether meerkats and prairie dogs steal  your heart or raccoons, coatis and porcupines wrap you around their small claws.Whether you have fallen in love with the Capuchin monkey Max or can not wait to visit the Python. This is the place to be! Here you can get up close with the Australian wallaby's and goats


DE: Dieser Tierpark nennt sich zwar heimattierpark aber es werden meist Exoten gezeigt vom kleinen Zebrafinken  bis hin zum Nasenbären. 

DK: Denne lille zoo viser forskellige eksotiske dyr, lige fra zebrafinken til næsbjørnen. Her kan man klappe geder og komme helt tæt på kænguruer
